Police Report Arrest of Suspect in Long Beach Dog Abuse Video

Long Beach police have arrested a man in connection with a shocking dog abuse incident that was caught on video. The disturbing footage, shared on Instagram, shows a man violently lifting a dog by its leash, slamming it to the ground, and kicking it. This incident took place in the 200 block of East 12th Street on Monday.

The video quickly gained attention, prompting the Animal Hope and Wellness group to call for help in identifying the suspect. They highlighted that the man was seen with a skateboard, hoping that local skaters might recognize him. The urgency was clear as the group emphasized the need to find this individual as soon as possible.

On Wednesday night, the Long Beach Police Department announced they had made an arrest related to the case. However, they did not disclose the suspect’s identity or any details about him. Meanwhile, the dog involved in the incident is now under the care of Long Beach Animal Care Services.

Police Chief Wally Hebeish expressed gratitude for the swift action taken by detectives and officers in apprehending the suspect. He stated, “This type of cruelty has no place in our community.” The incident has sparked outrage and concern among residents, highlighting the ongoing issue of animal abuse and the importance of community vigilance in addressing such acts.
