Trump and Bukele Unite on Trans Sports Ban and Border Enforcement Measures

President Donald Trump and El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele met recently in the Oval Office to discuss important issues affecting both countries, particularly the rise of violent crime in the U.S. During their conversation, Bukele emphasized that simply releasing criminals from prison would not magically reduce crime rates.

The two leaders found common ground on several topics, including a shared stance against allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports. This discussion highlighted their growing cooperation on issues related to immigration and crime prevention.

Trump directly questioned Bukele about policies that permit men to participate in women’s sports, describing it as a form of violence. Bukele agreed, stating that allowing such practices undermines efforts to protect women’s rights and could lead to increased abuse.

Bukele expressed concern that recent legislative efforts aimed at advancing women’s rights might actually roll back protections and allow for new forms of discrimination. He noted that while previous laws were beneficial in combating abuse, current trends seem to be moving in the opposite direction.

In response to these discussions, Trump had previously signed an executive order aimed at preventing those assigned male at birth from competing in women’s sports. This order also directs the Department of Education to investigate potential violations of this policy.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has stated it will align with this executive order, allowing only those assigned female at birth to compete in women’s sports. NCAA President Charlie Baker commented that a clear national standard is necessary for fairness among student-athletes.

This meeting between Trump and Bukele reflects their alignment on key social issues and their commitment to working together to address challenges such as crime and immigration. The conversation marks a significant moment in U.S.-El Salvador relations, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in tackling shared problems.
