Two people lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a Tesla in Fullerton on Saturday morning. The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. when the Tesla driver ran a red light on East Orangethorpe Avenue. The vehicle collided with a Toyota pickup truck and then crashed into an Orange County Transit Authority bus.
The driver of the Tesla, a male, suffered severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. A female passenger in the Tesla was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, five passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries and are expected to recover.
Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. The identities of the victims have not been released as the investigation continues. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of adhering to traffic signals for the safety of all road users.
